for one week of journeying and growing, centered at the
Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg. Crossroads
Event goals:

intersects the world
* to discover the many callings and ways of serving in these ministries

Inviting high school tenth graders in 2007 - 2008 to journey,
to listen, to be transformed!
Inviting you to journey…
-
to a variety of places where the gospel intersects
the world, where Christians are responding to the Spirit’s
call to "bring good news to the oppressed, and bind
up the brokenhearted" (Isaiah 61:1)
- as 25 high
school tenth graders in 2007-2008 meet for a week
of experiential learning about
ministries of advocacy
and prophetic witness, of merciful care and international
relief and development.
Inviting you to listen…
* to creative theological presenting of ministries of
witness and service at places such as:
o Lutheran Advocacy Ministry of PA
o Lutheran World Relief
o Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service
o Lutheran Retirement Village/ Lutheran Social Services
* to dynamic people who are responding to God's call
in diverse ways in these ministries.
* to other youth participants as they share testimonies
and hopes about their own callings, both now and in the
future.
Inviting you to be transformed…
Participants in earlier events have said:
"Joining together with others that I did not know,
and forming an unbreakable bond, was amazing. Also, re-defining
for myself the true meaning of 'service'".
"I'm going to describe this event with two words:
life- changing!"
"I loved seeing the great things God has done with
the organizations we visited, like N Street Village and
Lutheran World Relief. It gives you hope…"
"The most joyful time was the personal testimonies:
hearing about each person's vocation, and how they were
called by God into their vocation."
"Then I heard the voice
of the Lord saying,
'Whom
shall I send? And who will go for us?'
And I said, 'Here
I am. Send me!' "
(Isaiah 6:8)
Participants are responsible for their own transportation
to and from the event, for the offerings in Crossroads
Event worship, and for extra food, gift and gear purchases.
A refundable $50 participant deposit is required.
THE CROSSROADS EVENT FEE IN 2008 is $300. A $50 scholarship
